An additional tax for the benefit of the Village of Dresden for the purpose of fire protection and ambulance or emergency medical services at a rate not exceeding 4 mils for each one dollar valuation, which amounts to $0.40 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2022, first due in calendar year 2023.

Dresden is located on or near the site of a Shawnee (Native American) village known as Wakatomika, which gave its name to Wakatomika Creek, the creek that empties into the Muskingum River near the northern edge of the village. Dresden is the birthplace of the Longaberger Company, started in 1919 by the J.W. Longaberger family and famous for handmade maple splint baskets. Dresden is also the home of ”The World’s Largest Basket”, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
